A video ad with music for your Etsy listing

Etsy's help page says listing videos run 3 to 15 seconds and play without audio, so a jingle will not be heard on the listing itself. The setup that works: make a 15-second SingingAds cut for the listing, where the word-by-word captions carry the message silently, and run the sung 30-second version on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts with a link back to that listing.

Where the song can and cannot play

As of 17 Oct 2026, Etsy's listing video rules are short: up to two videos per listing, 3 to 15 seconds each, no audio once uploaded, 100 MB at most, MP4 among the accepted types, and an ideal resolution of at least 1080 px. Etsy also asks for a 2:1 or 1:2 aspect ratio. The SingingAds file is 9:16, which is close to 1:2 but not the same, so look at how Etsy previews it after upload before you publish the listing.

So the listing gets the silent version and social media gets the sung one. Both come from the same session.

If SingingAds cannot open your listing

Some marketplace pages block robots, and SingingAds cannot read a page that blocks robots. If your listing link does not load, describe the product instead: paste the title, the description, the materials, the price and any personalization options. From there the process is the same: you bring the listing details, SingingAds writes and sings a jingle and cuts a vertical video to it, you get an MP4 ad and the song, and only the claims you supplied get sung, after you have approved every line.

What a handmade product ad should sing

  • The material, by name. "Pressed violets" or "hand-dyed merino" is a picture in two words.
  • The gift moment. If your item is often bought as a gift, sing who it is for and when they open it.
  • Personalization, if the listing offers it. "With her name in gold" is a reason to choose you over a mass-made copy.
  • Ship-by dates only if they are on the listing. A song that promises arrival before a holiday is a promise you have to keep.

Say "handmade" only if your listing does. The product is handmade; the ad is AI-generated, and it is honest to keep those two apart.

Making the 15-second listing cut work in silence

With no sound, the listing video lives on its first frame and its captions. Choose an opening line that reads well as text, put the product in that first shot, and keep captions to short words. The offer card should state something a shopper can act on right there, like a size or a set, because they are already on the page where they buy.

Where to run the sung version

Use the 30-second cut on Reels, TikTok or Shorts, each pointing to the listing. The rights cover ads and social media with no royalties. If you sell the same item on your own site too, link there instead and keep Etsy for the silent cut. See Reels ads with original music for Meta's safe zones.

One session, two places to post

Keep it simple when you download. Name the 15-second file for the listing and the 30-second file for social, so the silent cut never ends up in a Reel and the sung cut never goes to Etsy, where its sound would be stripped anyway. If you sell several similar items, make the first ad for your strongest listing and reuse its brief as a starting point for the others, changing the material and the gift moment each time. The steps are on how it works, and the example ads show what the captions look like in practice.

Illustrative example: a made-up Etsy shop

Shop: Fernpocket Prints (invented). Product: a pressed-flower bookmark, personalized with a name.

Buyer: someone buying for a friend who reads every night. Moment: a birthday next week and no idea what to get.

Claims from the listing: real pressed violets, laminated, personalized with any name up to 12 letters.

Lyrics, 15 seconds: Real violets, pressed and kept / for the friend who reads, then slept / with her name in gold, so sweet / Fernpocket, the gift complete.

On the listing: the same 15 seconds with no sound, so the captions read "Real violets, pressed and kept..." word by word over the bookmark.

What it can't do

  • The song is never heard on an Etsy listing, because Etsy removes audio from listing videos.
  • It may not be able to open Etsy pages that block robots; paste the listing details instead.
  • It does not show your hands or your workshop; the people and places are generated, not filmed, and only your product comes from your photos.

What it costs

From $15 for one ad, or $29 a month for about 4 thirty-second video ads. A jingle take costs 4 credits; a typical 30-second video ad about 26. There is no free tier and no free sample.

Questions

Does Etsy allow sound on listing videos?

No. Etsy's help page says listing videos will not contain any audio once uploaded.

Can I put the 30-second version on my listing?

Etsy states 3 to 15 seconds, so use the 15-second cut on the listing and keep the 30-second one for social media.

Is it honest to call my product handmade in an AI ad?

Yes, if the product is handmade and your listing says so. Do not suggest the video itself was hand-drawn, and turn on the AI label where the platform offers one.

Will the video use my product photos?

Yes. In the realistic looks your product is kept exactly as in your photos, and one or two shots show those photos as they are. In the animated looks it is redrawn in that style, so check it looks like yours; you can redraw any frame.

How much is one Etsy video?

One ad starts at $15. See the pricing page for plans.
